Meet the Delphine Trio

The Delphine Trio brings together three passionate young musicians from opposite ends of the globe: Australian clarinetist Magdalenna Krstevska, Dutch cellist Jobine Siekman and pianist Roelof Temmingh, hailing from South Africa.

Founded in 2020 at the Royal College of Music London, the Delphine Trio showcases a combination of individual instrumental talent, intelligent and curious music-making, and a passion for diverse repertoire. After completing Masters’ degrees at the RCM, each member of Delphine Trio was also awarded an RCM Junior Fellowship – a rare combination.

The Delphine Trio were the winners of the 2025 Royal Overseas League Competition in the Mixed Ensembles Category in London, and have recorded at Abbey Rd Studios. In February 2024 they released their debut album ‘Adrift’ with Dutch label TRPTK which was praised in numerous publications for “shining a light on some beautiful hidden gems of the clarinet trio repertoire". The Delphine Trio were Artists in Residence at Leighton House London 2023-24. They are currently Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artists for the 2025-26 season.

Performances at UK music festivals and series include Buxton International Festival, Banstead Arts Festival, the Kensington & Chelsea Music Society Concert Series and the Royal Albert Hall Classical Coffee Morning Series. They were commissioned by the Gustav Mahler Society UK to perform arrangements of Mahler’s Rückert Lieder alongside tenor Zwakele Mshengu-Tshabalala and Maja Horvat, a long-term collaborator of the trio. They will perform their Wigmore Hall Debut in July 2025.

In the Netherlands the Delphine Trio have played live on NPO Radio Klassiek numerous times and regularly play concerts across the country, including in Groningen, for the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam and for the Mariahoeve concerts, amongst others. In 2022 were awarded the Mengelberg Fonds bursary to participate in the Apeldoorn Masterclass series.

The Delphine Trio are always looking to expand their knowledge of underrepresented works and composers, and are keen to contribute new music to the repertoire for their combination. As well as arranging music themselves, they enjoy working with composers on new commissions, most recently premiering a trio by Simon Rowland-Jones.
